Your brain is amazing! It has the ability to grow and change, no matter your age. This incredible process is called neuroplasticity, which means your brain can reshape itself by forming new neural pathways.

Think of your brain like a trail system in a forest. Some trails are well-worn and easy to follow because they’ve been used a lot. These are your habits, thoughts, and behaviors that you’ve practiced over time. But what if you want to create a new trail? At first, it might feel difficult to push through the brush, but the more you use it, the clearer and easier it becomes. Eventually, the new trail can become the main path you follow.  This is how your brain works. When you try new things, practice healthier habits, or change negative thinking patterns, your brain starts building new connections. These connections are the neural pathways. Over time, these new pathways become stronger, and old, unhelpful ones can fade away.

Therapy can help guide this process. Whether you’re working on managing stress, overcoming fears, or building better relationships, BR2HEAL can support you in creating and strengthening positive pathways in your brain. With patience and practice, you can reshape your brain to support the life you want to live.

Remember, change is possible. It’s never too late to rewire your brain and create a brighter, healthier future.

I help clients to live fuller, happier, and more satisfying lives. My approach is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We will do the work together to identify patterns that are keeping you stuck. In therapy, you will learn skills that enable you to relate to your thoughts and emotions differently.

I spent the first 25 years of my career as a teacher and school counselor. Since completing my doctoral degree in clinical psychology, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, schools, and private practice.
